They almost succeeded, but the manufacturer dropped the ball. These are solid and appear to be well plated. They thread and lockup fairly securely because of the rubber O-rings included in the design.The problem (and it’s a shame because for just a little more effort it didn’t have to happen) is that they didn’t properly remove the burrs and sharp edges after machining and before plating. These handles are sturdy and fight the plates tightly. Accommodate 25 pound plates. I outgrew my dumbbells that I had in increments of five pounds up to 50 pounds and needed higher than 50 pounds for things like dumbbell bench presses and leg work. Great quality, very sturdy The bars are a little long when doing certain moves but it’s to be expected to allow the additional weights to be added. Once I get to the point that I fill them up I don’t think they will be bad. I have noticed that the lock collars, once used and put down numerous times, do tend to loosen a bit and the weights wiggle a tad.
