POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS PRODUCT – DUMBBELL BROKE DURING USE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS PRODUCT. After a few months of fairly light use, one of the dark green 18lb dumbbells started to break during an exercise. The hex head on one side appears to be completely detached under the vinyl and it sounds as if it has loose sand (or metal particles) inside. The vinyl covering did keep it from falling apart during the lift, but the sudden weight shift itself nearly resulted in a drop. Perfect for rotator cuff recovery and strength training beginners! I needed two sets of weights for physical therapy for a torn rotator cuff. (Note: Try never to do that to yourself.
