HOT TUB TIME MACHINE follows a group of best friends who’ve become bored with their adult lives: Adam (John Cusack) has been dumped by his girlfriend; Lou (Rob Corddry) is a party guy who can’t find the party; Nick’s (Craig Robinson) wife controls his every move; and video game-obsessed Jacob (Clark Duke) won’t leave his basement. After a crazy night of drinking in a ski resort hot tub, the men wake up, heads pounding, in the year 1986. This is their chance to kick some past and change their futures – one will find a new love life, one will learn to stand up for himself with the ladies, one will find his mojo, and one will make sure he still exists!

Typical stupid poop and vomit humor If you want actual comedy, wit, intelligence in any form, funny scenes or writing, any reason to laugh, or just want to enjoy a movie, don’t bother with Hot Tub Time Machine. It’s awful. I love John Cusack, I’m fine with bawdy or raunchy humor, I enjoy stupid humor…however, this movie is none of those things. It starts with a poop scene, moves to a pee scene, moves to a teenage boy being degraded, then on to a vomit scene and it just gets worse from there. It’s truly lower than the lowest…
Hot tub lame machine
Excellent if you’re a Gen Xer and have a laid back sense of humor This is a quality parody and homage to the 80s and cheesy 80s movies. I’ve seen it three times now, once when it first ran in theaters, once for a friend’s bachelor party, once here on Amazon Prime, and it still holds up. If you grew up in the 80s and have a laid back sense of humor, you’ll probably enjoy it.
