Huge Bargain First off, I love them. The coating chips, so what? They are the cheapest you will find on amazon and tough as nails. Do you detail and wax your plates too? Condition the pleather on your bench? I cannot believe some of these reviews. bad coating Like most products these days, these are in worse shape after a few weeks than a pair of dumbbell handles that I’ve had for 10+ years. The black coating makes these look really nice but will start to fall off the second you start to change weight plates etc. You will feel guilty for using them every time you remove a weight or spin the collars on and feel the cheap coating crunching and flaking off. I’ve just switched to these from the other CAP handles (chrome, with the superior spinlocks) and prefer these. Here’s why.These can fit a full 4 10lb plates per side, securely locked. Only 3 per side on the chrome ones (these have a slightly smaller grip area, hence longer thread).
